MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave College men’s soccer team continued its dominant postseason run with a 2–0 victory over Iowa Western Community College Tuesday afternoon at Daytona State College Soccer Stadium in Daytona Beach, Florida. With the win, the Bighorns officially advance to the NJCAA Division I National Semifinals, improving their season record to 19-1-0.
After a scoreless first half, Mohave broke the match open behind a standout performance from freshman forward Lazzar Ramos. Ramos struck a penalty kick in the 73rd minute to put Mohave ahead 1–0. He added his second goal in the 83rd minute off an assist from Nolan Garcia, securing the 2–0 result.
Goalkeeper Chase Radford anchored the Bighorns defensively, recording five saves en route to his 12th win of the season and another clean sheet. Mohave tallied 11 total shots, while Iowa Western finished with 14 attempts.
The defensive unit, led by Ethan Harris, Stevan Dobrijevic, Silvestre Mellin, Dominic Portale and Raul Sierra, held strong throughout the match, limiting Iowa Western’s opportunities and preserving the shutout.
The win sends Mohave College into the national semifinals as they continue their push for another championship. The Bighorns will play at 11 a.m. AZ time, Thursday, Nov. 20 against Daytona State College. The game will be streamed exclusively on ESPN+, espnplus.com. Additional fees may apply.
