After a hard-fought, 2-0 loss to Eastern Arizona College Saturday, Sept. 20, in which the Bighorns recorded 15 shots, nine of them on goal, goalkeeper Evelyn Montiel-Silva kept the team within reach with 10 saves.
Mohave bounced back during the Tuesday, Sept. 23 game with an 8-1 victory over Nelson University.
Magaly Guzman-Lopez led the charge with two goals and an assist, while Anela Hoohuli contributed a goal and three assists. Jaquelin Godoy, Alayna Littlewood, Maya Tamara Davis, Estephanie Montiel-Silva, and Alyssa Martin Del Campo each added goals, with key assists from Brianne Kumashiro and Yariana Valle.
The Bighorns now set their sights on a challenging road match at Arizona Western College Saturday, Sept. 27 at 4:30 p.m., before returning home to host the College of Southern Nevada Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 4:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the team as they look to extend their win streak at Firebird Field.
